Type Salon: A Forced Race for Eye Space — Tues | 3 Nov | 6 pm

Alejandro Paul

The 2001 economic crisis in Argentina forced the hand of many industries, including all fields of design. Designers had to reconsider strategies and retrofit to remain relevant. Alejandro Paul survived by combining his two passions: lettering and packaging. He wasn't the only one. Informal design collectives and the internet helped bring Latin America (a region without much typographic tradition) to the forefront of global type design as a showcase for fresh tastes and new visual philosophies.
